Church Leadership:
The Lord Jesus Christ is the Head of Free Grace Chapel (Eph. 5:23-24; Col. 1:18). He governs Free Grace Chapel through the inspired Old and New Testament Scriptures (2 Tim. 3:16).
The Pastor is appointed by the Lord Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit, as the overseer of Free Grace Chapel (Acts 20:28; Eph. 4:7-12).
The Pastor chooses deacons to assist in overseeing Free Grace Chapel as the need arises (Acts 6:1-7).
The Pastor and the deacons will meet once a year to review the Free Grace Chapel Method of Governance and consider any revisions by praying for wisdom (James 1:5-8), and consulting the inspired Old and New Testament Scriptures (1 Tim. 3:16).
All deacons must fully agree with the Free Grace Chapel Statement of Belief.
Appointing & Replacing Deacons:
Free Grace Chapel will follow the pattern of Acts 6:1-7 for appointing and replacing deacons:
Qualifications:
Deacons must have a good testimony (reputation), be full of wisdom, and full of the Holy Spirit (Acts 6:3).
Recognition:
The Pastor will pray for deacons, and lay hands on them in the presence of Free Grace Chapel to recognize and appoint them as deacons (Acts 6:3, 5-6).
Person(s) authorized to act in behalf of Free Grace Chapel:
The Lord Jesus Christ is the Head of Free Grace Chapel. As such, He has absolute authority to act in behalf of Free Grace Chapel (Eph. 5:23-24; Col. 1:18).
The Pastor is appointed by the Lord Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit as the overseer of Free Grace Chapel (Acts 20:28; Eph. 4:7-12). As such, he is authorized under the authority of the Lord Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit to act in behalf of Free Grace Chapel.
The Pastor may grant deacons authority to act in behalf of Free Grace Chapel as the need may arise (Acts 6:1-7).
Resolving grievances or difficulties:
Free Grace Chapel will pray for wisdom (James 1:5-8), and consult the inspired Old and New Testament Scriptures (2 Tim. 3:16) for the right course of action to take regarding any grievances or difficulties.
Membership requirements for Free Grace Chapel:
Free Grace Chapel is a private group, which invites interested people to attend their services (John 1:43-46), provided they adhere to the inspired Old and New Testament Scriptures as the sole of rule of faith and practice (2 Tim. 3:16).
Handling Church Offerings:
Church offerings will be safeguarded and counted by no less than two members appointed by the Pastor. When the offering has been safeguarded, counted, and recorded in the church records, the offering may be deposited into the Free Grace Chapel Bank account by any member appointed by the Pastor. All offerings will be used for the Ministry needs of Free Grace Chapel.
Handling Property:
All property of Free Grace Chapel will be used only for the Ministry needs of Free Grace Chapel, and will be safeguarded at a location authorized by the Pastor.
Dissolution:
If Free Grace Chapel dissolves, all remaining assets will be used to pay any outstanding debts. The assets that remain after payment of outstanding debts, will go to a Christian Church of the Pastor's choice.
